The opinion of Elsa, Oriental dancer, on the use of lighted accessories

Our customer Elsa, professional Bellydancer, initially reluctant to use lighted modern accessories, finally let herself be tempted by 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then 5 lighted items sold in our shop! Feedback on her experience, the evolution of her thinking, and her current use of these articles.

Bellydance LED Isis Wings

This was my very first purchase of lighted accessories for the practice of Bellydance. Already a fan of traditional Isis wings, I watched demonstrations of luminous Isis wings on Youtube videos and in a private party. An artist from the world of entertainment but not of dance used them. I was amazed by the rendering and also heard the reactions of my relatives and other guests there that night. They all felt that they had "never seen that", that it was "spectacular". Being very attached to the authentic side of the oriental dance, I was finally convinced and bought them in the gold colored LEDs. I find that this color is more discreet than the others, more intimate and in tune with the oriental world and it goes very well with many of my gold Bellydance costumes. I like how easy to use and light this accessory is despite the presence of lights. Aside from the switch to light up the LEDs, there is nothing to do and the handling is identical to the one of classic Isis wings. I use it regularly but not for long, often in the opening of my performance to surprise and then I remove them nicely to continue my dance.

Luminous poï also called bola

I bought this accessory shortly after the luminous Isis wings and I first had to learn how to use it in my choreography because it was unknown to me. It is very easy to handle but I had to find different ways to use it to vary the effects because of course, it is not enough to always turn it non-stop in the same direction. Finally, I was able to find lots of ideas by watching performances from other bellydancers on the web. Associated with my style and my ideas, I was pleased by how it looked. I do not use it all the time but when I have a long show or a lot of successive parts with choreographies, it looks different and pleases! Their affordable price in your shop makes it easy to get started without taking any risk.

Illuminated lock of hair

I bought an illuminated strand of hair when ordering class outfits. I ran into this article in the shop and the ridiculously low price made me want to try it for "fun". In the end, I am pleasantly surprised, it goes very well with other lighted accessories (I took the lock with white LEDs so as not to mix too many colors) and it enhances the white Bellydance costume I keep for my rather plain choreographies. I intend to buy others for my dance group because it can make the hair and head movements we do in some dances great and give more intensity.

LED hoop

I bought the golden color one for choreography 3 months ago. My partner had the luminous gold Isis wings which I spoke about previously and I this hoop. To be honest, if I had not been seduced and satisfied with the look of my previous purchases of lighted accessories, I think I would have never bought this hoop. Since it is not really common, it was hard to foresee the result and possibilities. I first took inspiration from the few steps and movements presented in the demonstration video of the product and then let myself be carried away... Today, it is my favorite accessory and I love to discover it every day ! As it is rare and so we cannot learn from the choreographies of other bellydancers, I constantly try and test new handling techniques, new steps and I am proud of my discoveries. I realize that the use of this accessory is very rich and that I will still have to explore it for a long time to discover all its possibilities. After having the feeling to have done everything with the veil, fans, cane, Bellydance Isis wings (although these accessories are essential and please a lot), I was motivated to work on something new and different, as I am a very curious dancer.

Luminous silk fans with LEDs

I only bought it 2 weeks ago so it’s quite new. Clearly, it has a cost but I immediately thought of the rendering and the fact that they are offered in white definitely convinced me so I broke the piggy bank to treat myself! The look is superb and I am surprised by the very light side of the accessory still here despite the integration of LEDs. Today, I am still in the process of appropriation since because of the LEDs, they do not close and are delivered in open position. So I who used to play with openings and closings, I have to change my automatic reflex. I also have to get used during my bellydance choreographies to light them on and off. The little switch is at hand but again, as it is new, I'm in phase of adaptation because I refuse to present some choreography with this accessory if I do not master it perfectly.

To sum up, I was really convinced by the luminous accessories for my Bellydance’s performances. If at first, it seemed surprising because I am attached to convey the traditions of this discipline, I appreciate the entertaining side during my rehearsals and the "amazing" character that they undeniably provide to the audience. Of course, this is not appropriate for some styles of Bellydance like folkloric choreographies but with music, a suitable costume and especially lots of ideas, it is really magic ! I recommend it ! And then, after all, the fans are also Asian accessories integrated in Bellydance and at the beginning had nothing to do with this activity. And yet, today, they are essential because the world changes, evolves, modernizes and the oriental dance too! It’s out of question to make robotized belly dancing with flashing lights everywhere but if these accessories are handled smartly and with finesse in the respect of the codes of Bellydance, I do not see why we shouldn’t use them !
In any case, thanks to your shop for unceasingly making us discover novelties and putting at our disposal all the new trends to make this art evolve.
