Bellydance by... Sarah, 6 years old
We know that oriental dance attracts the younger generation more and more. Today we decided to interview a young oriental dancer who is also passionate to find out what her motivations are and have fresh and spontaneous answers !
When did you start Bellydance and why choosing this dance ?
I started Bellydance last year at the Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris. I have one hour of classes a week with Nadia except during school holidays. Nadia is very beautiful and she dances very well. I wanted to do oriental dance after seeing a show. This year, I will also perform in a show with my class girlfriends.
What do you like in the Bellydance classes ?
I love music that moves, it always makes me want to dance. I also like to have my belt which makes noise. And I like to see Nadia dancing and having fun with my girlfriends during the course.
What's your favorite bellydance costume ?
One day I saw Nadia with a costume with pink strass, I loved it so much, I'd like to have the same one day but Mom says bellydance costumes like this one it costs a lot. But mine is pretty too, I received a purple one for my birthday. There is a small top with a skirt and a belt. I like how it is done, you can see my stomach and then I have "things" like gloves for the arms that go with it.
Who's your favorite bellydancer ?
My favorite one is Nadia but I like all the dancers. They're all beautiful and dance well.
Do you practice oriental dance also at home ?
Yes, sometimes I repeat in my room before the course and I also invent dances when I perform at home for grandpa and grandma.
What job would you like to have ?
I would like to be a Bellydancer or teacher, I don't know yet.
Thank you little Sarah for answering to our questions and good luck to you in Bellydance :-)
